This is a wonderful tool for both the beginning and advanced scrapbooker. It is well organized, very informative, and a great addition to your library of know how books. The designs are well laid out, very attractive and contemporary.

"Encyclopedia of Scrapbooking" is a great book, and a wonderful tool for beginners to more advanced scrap bookers. It is very well laid out, the layouts are fresh and inviting, and it is a 4 star tool in my book. I use this book to find inspiring ideas, as a tutorial to learn how to use new or unfamilair tools, and as a reference for techniques in making better scrapbook pages.

This book is organized very well. It first gives a history of "scraps." It tells o how scrap booking evolves and gives wonderful test on why you should scrapbook. It goes into supplies, and has detailed lists and explanations of the essential tools needed, ranging from adhesives to albums, colorants to cutters.

Tools are mentioned, pictured , and detailed instructions on their use for scrapbooking are there in full color, with great illustration. Embellishments are also pictured, with good example on the use of the embellishments pictures on the example scrapbook pages which fill the book. They even show some fun uses of items you would not ordinarily think to use as a scrapbook embellishment.

Art media and Paper are then touched on, and there are good examples of each.

The book then pulls into different sections, each with full color examples. Page creation basics talk about cut, red eye, crop, adhere, mat and titles.

The next three sections are for the embellishments. I really liked how the first section was for beginning embellishing, a fun place for beginners to start, and to give seasoned scrappers easy, quick ideas. The second section pulls you into the intermediate embellishing. This section talks about chalk, metallic rub-ons, color blocking, crumpling card stock, slide mounts, photo mosaics, shaker boxes, paper piecing, sanding, and tearing. Every page has beautiful full color examples of great pages with these techniques that are a bit more advanced. The next section, is of course, the advanced embellishing with examples of color wash, crystal lacquer, decoupage, embossing, utee, image transfers, metal stamps, metallic leafing, glitter, mica, paints, texture, watercolor, pigment powders, polymer clay, stamping, stitching, shrink plastic and texture paste. Wonderful technique guides, and beautiful examples.

The book then shows great examples of mini books and gift albums. It then has some fresh and fun card making ideas. Again, using the contemporary designs that are on the for front of cropping and card making of today.

The books concludes with the appendix, which is rich with ideas for organizing, and preserving your photos and your memorabilia. It gives good insight to technology and computers, and how much you can do with the advancement of photo software, and online scrapbooking. The final and wonderful resource in this book is the resource guide, full of wonderful places to shop for scrapbook products: Everything from online stores to direct sales companies.

I highly recommend that you order yourself a copy of this useful guide today! I know I have added this to my library, and will refer to it often. Thank you, Creating Keepsakes, for another fun tool.
