My children each have their own scrapbooks. I love to add pages to them, but some of my most cherished pages in their books are the pages I have let them develop and crop themselves. Now, I know, sometimes that is a HARD thing to do when you take so much time to develop "perfect pages," but when a child creates their own page, you are preserving both their pictures and their own artistic expressions. That is a wonderful way to capture their writing, their creativity and their art work.

Tips:
- Have a big box of stickers, die cuts, patterned paper and card stock that you don't use, or have duplicates of.
- Have a second box of glue sticks, markers, chalks children's scissors and fun templates that are just for your children.
- Have your child write their “signature” every year, and scrap their school picture with the signature. You will see you their writing changes over the years.
- Make sure they journal to keep a good memory of their writing and how they express themselves. You will be surprised at their insight to some of the pictures that they scrap ad some of their feelings.
- A fun page for a child is to spray paper with chalkboard spray. ( The adult should do this). Have the child use chalk on this picture for a school day page for a wonderful effect.
- Use lots of praise and make scrapping a special, fun activity that you share once in a while with your children. You will cherish the memories AND the pages they create.
