My good friend Amber and I made this card for her cousin's baby shower invitations. Her cousin is a biologist, so we thought the charming little frog peeking out of the pocket on this card was just the right touch. This is a darling card for a baby boy shower, but you could also make the card in pink and green for a cute little baby girl card. This card is also great for a birthday card, a birthday party invitation, or a generic greeting card.
Supplies:
1/2 sheet 8.5 by 11 sheet of white card stock
Green card stock to back the card
Bright blue card stock for denim pocket
Light green card stock to stamp the frog
Light green gingham ribbon
Light blue gingham ribbon
Blue ink to stamp the pocket
Caribbean sea rainbow Kaleidacolor ink for the "you're invited"
3 rubber stamps by Stampin' up!
2 googly eyes
2 silver brads
scissors and adhesive dots and glue
Step 1
Stamp the pocket rubber stamp image on the blue card stock. Cut out and place the silver brads in the corners.
Step 2
Place a large glue dot in the center of the pocket to raise the pocket, and adhere to the card that you have already adhered to the green border paper.
Step 3
Stamp the frog on the green, cut out, and adhere to the card behind the pocket so he peeks out.
Step 4
Glue his googly eyes on.
Step 5
Using the rubber stamp, stamp the you're invited image with the Caribbean sea ink on the side of the pocket. You can stamp another sentiment here for another type of greeting card.
